Midpoint reflection

1:How has the internship been the same as and/or different than your expectations?
my internship has been same as the way i expected. Because i got to learn some of the things that i wanted. and everything happen what i expect.

2:What is similar and different about the culture of the school environment versus the workplace environment? culture of my internship is the same like school environment. because my workplace is in one of International high school. so its pretty the same .

3:What new skills have you learned that apply to the workplace? Which of these are transferable skills? the skills that i have learned is that be on time. if you have emergency just call them up. take your responsibilty.

4:What kind of relationship do you have with your mentor and co-workers? How have you grown as a result of interacting with professional adults? What kinds of communication (verbal and non-verbal skills) have you gained? the kind of relationship i have with my mentor is like a friend. the friend who understand and take care.

What challenges at the internship have you faced that you have overcome and how did you overcome them? the challenges i faced on my internship was to get along with other students there and my mentor. i oversome with them by talking to them much as i can.

What challenges have you faced in school as a result of the altered schedule and how are you handling them? the challenges im facing schools are to do my work. because now in these internship days im so busy. because first i have school then i have internship for 4 hours. after that i have my other job till 1 Am. so i dont get time to do my work. these are the challenges.

What goals are you working to accomplish during the remaining five weeks of the internship? Im trying to learn about the photoshop. that was th reason i wanted that internship. so i really want to learn about the Photoshop.

What new things have you learned about New York City? the new things i have learned bout New york City is that while you living here you will not have enough time to do other things beside your work. also we have alot of opportunities to make our lifes easy and hard. new York City dont sleep and stays busy 24/7.

Meaning: The memory stick for the computer.

Context: I heard this word from my mentor. While he opened the computer and teaching us.

2. Word / Phrase: Motherbored

Meaning: The main part of the computer that upgrades your computer.

Context: During the the time my mentor was teahing us aboutt he parts of computer.

3. Word / Phrase: Ethernet Card

Meaning: One of network adapter that support ethernet stander for high speed network.

Context: I heard some one talking to my mentor.

4. Word / Phrase: Hard drive

Meaning: The space that hold your data.

Context: while my mentor was talking about the parts of computer.

5. Word / Phrase: Wireless card

Meaning: The card that have wireless connection for the computer.

Context: While one of my intern friend was told to take it out from the computer.

Weak four: My third of the day there

My internship is a computer speacialist. its in the Brooklyn International High School, the kind of work get done there is to control the whole computer system of the school. Also professional fix the computers. Its in the Brooklyn near to the Manhattan Bridge. the neighborhood is so busy, because its near to the bridge so a lot of people pass by. My mentor name is Alex, his a very cool person. his the one who hade make people life so beautiful by teaching them his experience. The things i have done so far is that i have fixed my own computer and some computers on internship. Some of the cools things that we did on our internship was that we bought new computers and we get to fix them by our self, also when my mentor bought us the food.
The time i leave my school is 11:45 and then i walk to the train and i get to the train by 12:00. It take me like 45 min to go to the internship. Everyday i arrive home different times. sometimes i get out early from my internship and some times late. and the latest i arrive home is like 6:00. I go to the internship 4 days a weak. and i do 4 hours a day, 16 hours a weak.the two persons that can sign my time card is my mentor Alex and the second person that use to do is Eddy. But now his not there no more for some reason. The way fourth weak was different from the third weak of internship is that in fourth weak we got new computers and we did the wiring work by our selfs, to see how much we have learned. aslo in fourth weak i got use to the place and the people so it was kind of fun weak. Something that i realy like about my internship is that my mentor never said no to me. what ever i ask him or what ever i want to learn he always teach me and always give me. Also that i get to learn what i want to. Something that i dislike about my internship is that i have to dress up everyday. which i do not like to do that's it. i did no read anybodys blog and comment yet.

First day of internship

My mentor Mr. Alex is a very good and a helpfull person. he is just like my second father. He know what we want and how we are feeling front of him. he make us do work, not only make he also make us understand the work. The first time i arrived at my internship i felt so much nevous that i couldn't even say my name properly. at the first day of my internship we travel the whole Brooklyn International High School. and he showed us all the computer labs. also Mr. Alex told us our rules that we have to follow. My goals for internship is to learn from Mr. Alex much as i can, also learn alot about the Photoshop. The work i have been doing in my internship is to fix the comuters and how to organise the computer lab.

week Three

Hi everyone
My third week in the internship is going good so far. In the last past two week there was some times when had to hate the internship, also there was sometimes when i had to love it too. The tasks I have in my internship are to fix the computers, clean the computer lab, organize the class, also to help out the student or the teachers that need. The tasks i might ask is that how to fix all the problems of the computers. For past three weeks I've been cleaning the computer lab, fix the other PC's, also i have fixed my own computer.
